3D Senior environment / Lighting Artist

As a Senior 3D Environment Artist,  focusing on refining and finalizing levels.  PASTRY, the level was already 90% complete when I stepped in. My primary role involved:

  • Polishing the lighting to create a more immersive and visually striking atmosphere.

  • Enhancing the fog to add depth and mood to the environment.

  • Optimizing post-processing effects, ensuring the visuals aligned with the desired aesthetic.

  • Ensuring clean and optimal lighting bakes for smooth performance and consistent quality.

My efforts were centered around fine-tuning and elevating the level's visual quality, ensuring it met the highest artistic and technical standards while delivering an engaging player experience.

Composition and Lighting

BREAKDROWN

Optimized lighting in a stylized environment by reducing lightmaps by 2.5x and setting background assets to 'Movable,' eliminating unnecessary shadows for improved performance. Disabled 'Cast Shadows' on non-critical objects to maintain visual quality while significantly boosting frame rates. Successfully balanced aesthetics and technical constraints to enhance overall scene efficiency.
